Qualifying

Two years of tax returns and a personal financial statement showing that you qualify as an accredited investor.

Every client must qualify as an accredited investor and provide verification. There is no financial underwriting for the bank loan itself.

The Stream Plan is the borrower on your behalf, and you hold no financial responsibility for the loan.

No. Clients never provide collateral or any type of guarantee.

Contributions

Minimums run by age. Ages 1 to 17: $5,000 per year. Age 18 and up: $20,000 per year.

There is no maximum. All amounts must be financially justified for both the insurance and the premium.

Payments are made for the first five years of the plan only. After five years, no more payments are due.

Contributions are due 30 days prior to each policy anniversary, for the first five years of the plan.

Contributions are made to The Stream Plan by check or wire transfer.

Fees

No. The management fee and the potential distribution fee are disclosed, and they are the only fees for the Stream program.

No. The only program fee is the $750 annual management fee.

The life insurance policy carries its own separate fees, which are detailed in the carrier illustration.

Your account

Clients have rights to their policy and its associated benefits.

Statements are sent by email or regular mail to the address on record, within 45 days of each policy anniversary.

The policy may be surrendered to repay the bank loan, or The Stream Plan may take over the policy. In either case you would no longer have rights to the policy or any benefits associated with it.

Death benefit

The portion of the death benefit needed to repay the bank loan is paid to the bank. The remaining proceeds are paid to your beneficiaries.

Upon death, the death benefit first repays the bank loan in full. The remaining net amount is then distributed to the trust.
